Tuckered Out Dog Walking was born from a simple desire to make a positive impact on pets and their guardians in the vibrant Richmond community. We’re a passionate team of pet lovers, dedicated to supporting pet parents with daily doggie needs—whether it’s regular exercise, a quick potty break, or introducing your furry friend to new adventures. Exceptional pet care begins with an exceptional team. We are different from your typical dog walking company, and what makes us special is our team approach—as a team, we are committed to the well-being of your animal and the fulfillment of their needs! No matter the changes to your or a team member’s schedule, we are always able to complete a service request, since we work together to make sure all of our clients have exactly what they need.
In order to be successful in the team member approach, our new hires are fully vetted with a background check, and must pass a week-long standardized training program before being released into the field. Once in the field, every single visit is monitored by a manager and reviewed to make sure it meets our standard of quality.

Austin Tuck

Owner & Founder
My name is Austin, company owner/founder, Richmond native, and lifetime animal lover! I grew up in a zoo of a household and started caring for dogs, cats, horses, birds, rodents, fish, and other exotic pets from a very early age. I have been offering private dog walking services since 2013, and was able to turn my lifetime dream into reality when I officially opened Tuckered Out Dog Walking in October 2021! I am a passionate advocate for animal welfare, and partner closely with RACC to support their adoptable dogs through our Shelter Sponsorship program, which we launched in March 2024! I also spoke in front of 300 pet business owners at a conference in September 2025, in order to teach them how to launch their very own shelter programs! Outside of running this business full-time, I volunteer at the SPCA, attend annual pet industry conferences, and actively work to expand my knowledge through continuing education efforts and maintaining regular connections with other pet business owners. I also have two cats of my own and enjoy crocheting, gardening, going to music festivals, and competing in local sport leagues in my spare time.

Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m the proud guardian of two free-roam rescue rabbits. Because of this, dogs are unfortunately a big no-no in my house. I’ve been looking after the dogs, cats, and rabbits in my social circle all my life, and I started pet sitting professionally in Williamsburg in 2022. I loved building connections with pets and their families. I’m thrilled to continue my dream job, dog walking, here in Richmond! I also work as a freelance editor and I love to read.

Hi, my name is Gaia! I was born and raised in Richmond as well as surrounding areas. I have lots of experience starting out with growing up on a little farm with a bunch of pets and farm animals. I always knew I wanted to work with animals and continued on to do a lot of pet sitting, working at a doggy daycare/boarding place, as well as having my own pets now! I have a sweet little beagle and also live with a cat. My hobbies would include anything outdoors/hiking/nature, crafting and art, reading, and baking.

My name is Eva, and I’m from Richmond by way of Winchester, VA. I’ve been in the city for 10 years now, but grew up in the valley. For the past 2 years, I’ve been working for the Richmond SPCA as an animal care technician. I work closely with the dogs and cats to ensure their day to day needs are met. When I’m not walking dogs, I play music around the city. I am also a pet momma of a chocolate lab named Jameson, who is 12 years old. She’s my pride and joy. I’m excited to be a part of the team and I can’t wait to meet everyone’s beloved little darlings!

Hello! My name is Abby, and I’m from Fairfax, VA. I’ve taken care of pets for the majority of my life, including my little Plott Hound, Ernest! I am currently an MFA Candidate, concentrating in Fiction, so during my off time, I love experiencing storytelling through literature, movies, and theater. I love to connect with animals and am so excited to be a part of Tuckered Out!

My name is Laura. I grew up in Colonial Heights, VA. I have 3 dogs. I am very active and love to run. I absolutely love being outdoors, especially with dogs. When the weather is warm, I spend the weekends at the river with my pups. I have been a volunteer at the Richmond SPCA since 2018, taking shelter pups out for walks and field trips to some of the local parks like Hollywood Cemetery. I am recently retired and am excited to get to spend more time with dogs!

Hi, my name is Teagan! I have always loved all animals since I was a kid, and often joked that I enjoy a pet’s company more than a person’s. For several years I worked off and on as a professional pet caretaker and I always found it rewarding, so now that I’m settling down near RVA I’m looking forward to working with animals again! My two house rabbits keep my husband and I company while we spend time reading, making art, and cooking good food. Off-hours you might find me at a local native plant swap, hitting up the surrounding thrift stores, or shooting some portraits around town.

I’m Ari! I am originally from the southern tier area of New York. I moved to Charleston SC in 2014, and as of August 2025 I have been a Richmond resident! I fell in love with the area the first week I moved here. There is such a strong sense of community, and I hope to get more involved. I have been a body piercer for the past 7 years but wanting to broaden my skillset. I am married and we have 2 dogs, a beagle/dachshund/jack russel mix and a silky terrier! Yorkshire terriers are my favorite breed! As for hobbies-I’m not too exciting. Horror movies, video games, working out and hanging with my pups and husband are my main things.

Richmond, Virginia became my home 5 years ago when I decided to move in with my partner! My background is mostly in Veterinary Medicine! My name is Jaimie. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been something that comes naturally to me. I grew up with three dogs and I’m a proud cat mom to two of my own, Kiwi and Mango, who are the lights of my life. I love getting to know every pet’s personality and bring patience, attention, and love to every pet in my care. Outside of that, I love trying new foods, going to live music festivals, and practicing flow arts, specifically hooping. I’m excited to give every pet the same love, care, and attention I’d want for my own!

Hello, my name is Derek! I was born in the small town of Taylorsville, North Carolina and after growing up there I moved all across the country before eventually settled here in Richmond. Ever since I was a kid I have had an affinity to caring for animals, everything from my first pet, Liela the turtle, to Whiski the Great Dane. I love to adventure and explore the outdoors, and on the weekend when the sky is blue you can find me jumping out of planes for fun as a skydiver.
